Ohio Schools to Watch respond to the unique needs and interests of young adolescents. These schools recognize that students have different learning styles and use the arts, technology,
hands-on activities, cooperative learning, and independent inquiry to help students learn in a variety of ways. Click on the image for the past Ohio Schools to Watch.
They provide a personalized learning environment in which students and teachers are organized into small learning communities that enhance teaching and learning. In addition, these schools
are socially equitable, making sure that all students have access to high-quality classes and the support they need to learn and achieve at high levels. Finally, they provide the leadership,
professional development and other organizational supports necessary for continuous improvement.
