Outstanding Component School Award
Nominate a Canidate
The Ohio Middle School Association Outstanding Component Award was established in the summer of 1989. Its purpose is to recognize exemplary middle schools in the many components of middle level organization. It is intended
that these schools will provide model resources for schools striving to develop, refine or polish their own components of their middle schools.
Schools with building memberships in OMSA may be nominated by a member or self-nominated. Nominated member schools must then complete an application. If the application meets established criteria, a site-visitation team of OMSA members
and/or consultants is scheduled to verify the middle level component practice.
Previous Winners
The Ohio Middle School Association appreciates that the majority of middle schools recognize the unique and delicate nature of adolescents in the middle. It is our intent to focus attention on those exemplary
practices meeting the needs of these students so that all Ohio schools may benefit from those efforts. Recognized schools are open for visitations and encouraged to give presentations at the annual spring
OMSA State Conference.
