Steve Raines is the Executive Director of OASSA and has served in this capacity since September, 1996. He was previously the Associate Executive Director of OASSA from July 1987- 1996. Steve was a middle school principal for eleven years and has been serving on the OMSA Executive Board since 1981. In 2000, Steve was named OMSA Educator of the Year.

Fred Fastenau, CAE, serves as the liaison to the OMSA Board of Directors from the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators. Fred is OAESA's chief Legislative Agent, plans professional development programs for school administrators and support staff, and serves as an on-site advocate for elementary and middle level administrators. He holds the designation of Certified Association Executive (CAE). Prior to joining the staff of OAESA, Fred served for many years as a school administrator at the elementary, middle level, and in the central office.

Christine is a senior at Heidelberg College located in Tiffin, Ohio. Her concentrations are in Language Arts and Social Studies. She serves on the executive committee for the Heidelberg chapter of the Collegiate Middle Level Assocation. She enjoys working with the OMSA board and looks forward to her career as a middle level educator.

Jack Berckemeyer is the Assistant Executive Director for the National Middle School Association. Before moving to Columbus, Jack taught 6th grade at Scott Carpenter Middle School for seven years and at Thunder Ridge Middle School for one year. He wond outstanding teacher awards at both schools. He now works with the 57 affiliate organizations of NMSA, is the author and editor of Classroom Connections, and supports many of NMSA's activities. Jack graduated from the University Northern Colorado with a degree in Elementary and Middle Level Education. He also has a k-12 certificate in School Administration.

Rebecca Reese is a Northeast Representative for OMSA and has been involved with the organization for 10 years. She is a 6th Grade Science Teacher at Hudson Middle School. She is committed to the excellence that a middle school philosophy provides.
